For a good kick-sledding experience, there needs to be enough snow and/or ice on the walkways. If there's a lot of gravel or just patches of snow, it can be quite challenging to use the kick sled. You can use the kick sled on smaller roads with little traffic or on walkways, but there's no point in using it on cross-country ski trails, and it's not allowed in downhill skiing areas.

A kick sled can be used by a maximum of two adults at a time, with one sitting and the other kicking. Explore the walkways outside Geilo's center to experience different parts of the area. Look at suggested routes for year-round trips for ideas.

The tourist information is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 15:00 and Saturdays in the high season from 10:00 to 15:00. Note that opening hours may change, so it's a good idea to double-check.

It's possible to transport a kick sled on a car trailer or the car's roof, and it can also be folded up. You're responsible for any damage to the kick sled and the car.
