Welcome to Halne Fjellstugu and Hardangervidda, on Norway's roof, where east meets west.
We can offer accommodation in our rooms or apartments inside the mountain lodge, all rooms have their own bathroom / WC. We also have cabins located right behind the lodge with great views, the cabins have kitchen and bathroom / WC. In the summer time we also have a cabin (Halnefjorhytta) at the bottom of the Halnefjord for rent.
At Halne there is no light pollution and at night the sky is filled with stars. It is not uncommon for the northern lights to come like a pulse across the night sky. An incredible experience! Halne is the place for everyone, whether it is to find peace and quiet or if you want activities such as hunting and fishing, hiking, skiing, dogsledding or snowkite. Or for those who want to eat with us, we can recommend our a la carte menu! We have premises that can be suitable for smaller groups who want to combine meeting / conference and mountain life, for parties and celebrations or for those of you who are thinking of getting married and want to celebrate a wedding.
Running a mountain lodge on the Hardangervidda is a separate lifestyle. One must have an extra passion for nature, weather and wind, and not least feel the joy of sharing it with others. We take pride in giving visitors experiences they can take with them further. Whether you stop for a plate of home cooking, or want to stay with us.
For us who work up here, it is important to be able to share the knowledge we have about places and hiking opportunities. Traditions and cultural history. Where the big fish stands and how it is with the grouse population. And not least share knowledge and tastes of all local ingredients we process at Halne.
Geirmund Tormodsgard and Ingar Dalen bought Halne Fjellstugu in 2016, Halne had been run as a family business since it was built in 1933. Now the mountain lodge is growing into a new era and we look forward to sharing experiences with our guests.
